Phevos is one of the two official mascots of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Named after Phoebos (Apollo), the Greek god of light and music, he symbolises the connection between ancient Greece and the modern Olympic Games. His design is inspired by a 7th-century BCE terracotta doll known as a daidala, reflecting the values of play, friendship and Olympism.
