Sydney 2000 Olympic Poster

The poster of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, features the emblem of the Games, a colourful abstract figure that symbolises the ‘Man of the New Millennium’. Characterised by its energetic movement, it is formed of boomerangs, a recognised symbol of Australia and its indigenous people.

The motif is set on a blue background with the typed names of all participating countries, a running figure, and the iconic Sydney Opera House at the bottom. The outline of this famous landmark is also reflected in the zigzag pattern emerging from the Millennium Man’s hand.
