3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum
In 1952, Norway became the first Scandinavian country to host the Winter Olympic Games. Following a competition for the Games poster, the committee selected two works by Knut Yran (1920-1998), a Norwegian illustrator and designer. The first was used as the official poster and the second, seen here, for smaller reproductions and as the cover of the events programme. It shows a male athlete proudly raising the Olympic flag.
This edition of the Oslo 1952 progamme includes the schedule for 17 February, the fourth day of competition.
