This is a unique example of an aqal (a headband used to hold the ghutra in place), made of twisted undyed sheep's wool. It is white, consists of braided strands and is in the shape of a circle without a tail. This white aqal was traditionally worn by old men and matawas (scholars of the Quran and Islamic studies). Although the white aqal is no longer in use in contemporary times, this particular example holds historical significance because Sheikh Abdullah Bin Jassim was known to wear white headbands instead of the black one.
