This type of cloak, worn by men, is known as a bisht. It could be black or white, or both. The bisht is made of two pieces of wool and decorated on either side with gold tassels known as amelah. Bishts were typically ordered from Saudi Arabia and custom-made to fit a man’s height. The bisht is worn on the shoulders over a thoub for special occasions, such as a wedding. It is still worn today.
