This small open bowl was intended to serve food. The glaze and decoration remain only on the outside, with alternating vertically painted lines in red and yellow running from the lip to the foot. The glaze above the painted decoration is transparent. This particular combination of colours and patterns suggest that this bowl was a product of a workshop in Susa (Iran) or Samarra or Basra (Iraq).
