Berlin 1936 Summer Olympic Games Torch

This official torch was created for the Berlin 1936 Olympic Games, which introduced the first Olympic torch relay, carrying the flame from ancient Olympia in Greece to the host city.
The relay established a tradition that has become an important part of the modern Olympic Games. Designed by Carl Diem and Walter E. Lemcke and manufactured by Friedrich Krupp AG, this torch accompanied the historic journey from Olympia to Berlin.
