60 years after 1938, France hosted the FIFA World CupTM for a second time. In 1998, France won the World Cup for the first time, after beating defending champion Brazil 3–0.
The cover of the official programme features the design of the tournament’s poster which was also used in many other products. Nathalie Le Gall, a French graphic designer and artist, had just finished her studies when she won the competition for the World Cup’s poster. With her vivid design of a football field filled with blue, yellow, and red colours, she created a playful visual identity of the championship
