In the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, the USA men’s basketball team featured active professional players from the NBA for the first time. It has been described as the greatest basketball team ever assembled, nicknamed the ‘Dream Team’.
This ‘Spalding’ basketball was signed by members of the team at the 1992 Basketball Tournament of the Americas, an Olympic qualifying championship that took place in Portland, USA. They won the tournament and went on to achieve the gold medal in Barcelona.
