Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art
Originally from Sudan, Ibrahim El-Salahi belongs to a rich multicultural background that he considers to be at the intersection of the African and the Arab worlds. In his practice, he explores the artistic forms and concepts of these two worlds, creating a unique artistic style. While embracing the aesthetics of modern art, he has also studied classical artistic movements such as the Italian Renaissance and ancient hieroglyphics, which he discovered while studying in London between 1954 and 1957.
