This handmade wooden bowl is decorated with two incised lines inside the rim. It would have been used for the serving, preparation and consumption of water, milk and food.
Bowls and plates of this kind were made in different sizes depending on the intended usage. The people of Qatar would carry such kitchen and serving items with them while they were on the move. Pearling boat crews would also use such vessels as a cheaper alternative to metal and ceramic dishes.
