This necklace consists of a strand of 46 small, simple oval gold beads with granulated decoration at the ends of each. At the top of the chain are two tubular pieces, also with granulated decoration. The length of this type of necklace is typically between 30 and 60 cm, with this one at the larger end of the range. Such necklaces were for everyday use. This variety is known as mariyyah misbah because it resembles prayer beads. Gold jewellery was made by local craftsmen who had stalls in the marketplace.
