This artist’s book is the result of a collaboration between Dia Azzawi and the poet Adonis, bringing together two distinct yet deeply connected forms of expression: visual art and poetry. In this exchange, Azzawi’s visual compositions became a source of inspiration for Adonis’s poetic response, creating a dialogue between image, language and imagination.

The unfolding structure of the leporello enhances this dialogue, allowing the visual and poetic elements to extend across a continuous surface. Through expressive gestures, abstract forms and the interplay of colour, light and shadow, Azzawi’s compositions explore rhythm, movement and the emotional possibilities of the image. Adonis’s poem extends this visual language into the realm of words, adding an epic and contemplative dimension to the interpretation of the work.
